“We will fully digitize car dealerships from start to finish around the world.”
Epikar (EPIKAR), a startup that specializes in digitizing automobile dealerships, is preparing to make
a full-scale entry into the U.S. market. The company, which already provides its Dealer Management
Solution (DMS) to BMW Korea and seven of its official dealer networks, has established a corporate
entity in the United States in pursuit of broader global expansion.
In an interview held in San Jose, California, CEO Han Bosuk stated, “I want to develop the U.S.
market in parallel with Korea.”
Car dealerships still rely heavily on manual processes. Customers often need to visit dealerships in
person just to schedule test drives, while dealership staff still manage test-drive vehicles manually
and assign them using analog methods. Han emphasized, “Digitizing dealership operations can save
both time and money.”
Epikar has identified this gap in the industry and developed solutions targeting these inefficiencies.
Its core offerings include:
A test-drive management platform
A digital workshop service solution
Marketing tools for cultivating loyal customers
Through the BMW Test-drive Solution (BTS), customers can easily select vehicle models and book
test drives. The process is streamlined with no paperwork required. Staff can view the real-time
status and usage of test-drive vehicles on a PC monitor.
Epikar also provides a Digital Workshop Solution (Intelligent Workshop System, IWS) tailored for
service centers. It automatically detects a vehicle’s license plate upon entry and exit to track its
status. Service advisors can monitor the condition and location of vehicles on-site in real time,
optimizing repair workflow. The system even predicts repair completion times, reducing customer
wait time.
