(Seoul = Yonhap News) Epikar, a company specializing in digital transformation solutions for automotive distribution, announced on the 15th that it has secured Series A funding from multiple investors, including the state-run Korea Development Bank (KDB).
With this investment, Epikar plans to focus on advancing its B2B (business-to-business) digital sales and distribution solutions through enhanced technology development and infrastructure expansion. Beginning in 2023, the company will actively pursue global market entry by establishing partnerships with international car dealers.
Epikar provides data-driven digital solutions for critical areas in the automotive sales process where dealer involvement is essential — such as test drives and after-sales service (A/S) — helping automakers and dealers reduce operational costs.
One prominent example is BMW Korea and seven of its official dealerships, which have adopted Epikar’s services. They have implemented a system that allows customers to reserve and complete test drives via mobile service across more than 80 showrooms nationwide. Additionally, 75 after-sales service centers across the country now operate using Epikar’s intelligent management system that enables real-time tracking of vehicle check-ins and check-outs.
Han Bosuk, CEO of Epikar, stated, “Many services in our daily lives have been digitized thanks to industry-wide digitalization and advancements in mobile technology — yet the automotive distribution sector still lags behind. We aim to build an efficient and innovative digital platform that satisfies all stakeholders, including dealers and consumers.”
