Epikar, a company that provides digital transformation solutions for the car sales and
distribution process, announced on the 18th that it has signed a research and
development agreement with the UX Lab of the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication
and Information at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
Epikar offers data-driven digital solutions for parts of the automotive sales process where
dealer involvement is essential, such as test drives and after-sales service. While most
automotive sales operations are still carried out through face-to-face interactions, Epikar's
services help reduce operational costs and improve competitiveness by digitizing these
workflows.
Under the agreement, both parties will establish a technical support system to enable the
application of Epikar’s digital solutions in Southeast Asian markets, using Singapore as a
regional hub. They will also explore ways to expand the local adoption of Epikar's
solutions through collaborative development.
As part of this effort, Epikar has appointed Professor Kuanmin Lee, head of NTU’s UX Lab,
as its Chief Scientific Adviser. Professor Lee will support Epikar in shaping its design
strategy, building a technical support framework, and strengthening global business
operations.
Professor Lee stated, “Globally, the automotive distribution sector has been especially slow
in adopting digital transformation. I saw the potential in Epikar, which offers solutions
across the entire value chain, and decided to join the initiative.”
